Why Is Pump Coin Price Up Today Main reasons for the rally
Pump Coin’s price has caught strong momentum, surging 17% to $0.00519 in the last 24 hours and extending its weekly gains to roughly 38%. The move is notable as the wider cryptocurrency market dropped 1.37% to around $2.87 trillion in the same period. Bitcoin traded near $84,000, ethereum was around $2,677 and XRP was just below $1.50.## Pump.fun Buybacks Back PUMP Demand
One of the main reasons for Pump Coin’s recent rally is Pump.fun’s ongoing token buyback program. About half of the revenue generated by the platform is used to buy PUMP tokens and to then burn them forever.
The data shows Pump.fun purchased about $1.14 million of PUMP on September 27, following its purchase of $1.46 million of PUMP on September 26. To date, the platform has bought back more than $463 million worth of PUMP tokens — removing more than 168 billion tokens from circulation.
These purchases can generate continuous demand, while token burns take away from the available supply. That said, buybacks and burns don’t guaranty that the PUMP price will continue to rise. Activity on Solana is also important as higher trading volumes can increase Pump.fun’s fee revenue and perhaps provide more capital for future repurchases.
Although PUMP has recovered somewhat in recent days, it remains about 44% below its ATH, showing the token has yet to fully recover from its decline.## Revenue from Hyperliquid Falls Behind Pump.fun
Another reason for the attention is the revenue performance of Pump.fun in the recent past. Pump, with $15.16 million in revenue over seven days, narrowly edged out Hyperliquid, which generated $15.06 million in revenue over the last week, according to data from DefiLlama.
That roughly $100,000 gap leaves Pump in third place among the tracked crypto apps, behind stablecoin issuers Tether and Circle. During the same time period, Tether generated $121.64 million, while Circle generated $50.40 million.
The revenue ranking points to the ongoing economic activity around Pump.fun and provides a key fundamental metric for PUMP traders.## PUMP Price Resistance $0.0055
Technically, PUMP was up 3.12% in the active four-hour session, surging to around $0.005196 on September 28. The token traded briefly at $0.005366 before retracing.
The move above $0.0048 was significant as it had previously restricted recovery attempts. Increased trading around $0.0052 indicates greater market participation.
A four-hour close above $0.0052 could open the door for a move toward the $0.0055 resistance. A sustained break above that level could put $0.0060 on traders’ charts. But these levels depend on continued buying momentum.
The RSI on a four-hour timeframe was at 70.12 indicating that PUMP was in the overbought territory and may see some consolidation. Chaikin Money Flow at 0.11 showed positive buying pressure in the meantime.
If PUMP breaks below $0.0052, traders may consider $0.0048 as the next support zone. The token could revisit the previous range around $0.0045 if it drops below that level.
