Transactions using XRP just got easier…
Girin Labs announced a significant achievement today for the XRP Ledger (XRPL). Girin Card has received the first MSB (Money Services Business) registration from FinCEN (part of the U.S. Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network).
Approval of this registration brings the Gazelle payment and treasury flow solution to a regulated financial market. Under the Bank Secrecy Act, Girin Card’s MSB registration enables payment flow of XRP and RLUSD.
Girin Labs commented on the registration stating, “FinCEN’s MSB license marks the startup of an aggressive path to offer real-world transactional infrastructure with digital assets for everyday spending. It will increasingly anchor the regulatory foundation for new collaboration opportunities across financial and payment systems.”
Girin Card was the first XRP Ledger self-custody crypto-payment card, released in March 2026. There are more than 130 million global merchants that can now accept payment via Visa’s global payment network using XRP or RLUSD.
Girin Card’s key focus on self-custody is derived from the need for users to retain possession and control of their digital assets. They aim to eliminate the barriers and simplify the payment of digital assets along the Web3 and traditional commerce continuum.
Girin Labs’ payment integration plans include enterprise-grade APIs and white-label payment infrastructure.
With FinCEN approval, businesses in the crypto and payment industries can now use Girin’s existing XRPL payment technology to create custom crypto card programs.
FinCEN Approval Strengthens XRPL Real World Payments
Girin Card’s MSB registration is another step toward more widespread cryptographic payment systems. Regulatory clarity is arguably the most critical factor for large, institutional players to enter the crypto industry.
Girin Card can grow its user base quickly now that it has regulatory approval. This validation is a clear sign of the increasing demand for integrated crypto payment systems that efficiently balance the demands of traditional finance and compliance.
As consumers become more used to interacting digitally, crypto payment systems are a growing channel to connect decentralized finance and real financial activity.
XRP Price Analysis – XRP Eyes $1
Positive action within the XRPL community has been offset by concern regarding price movement for XRP. The token has slumped to the $1 handle in the face of regulatory uncertainty in the USA.
The Clarity Act and the potential changes it may bring to the crypto market have heavily influenced sentiment. On September 15, the U.S. Senate will vote to enact the Clarity Act, but other members of the Trump administration have expressed their ongoing support for the Act.
Some indicators suggest XRP may be in a short term down trend. XRP’s RSI has fallen to 30.77, indicating it may be in oversold territory.
Analysts say a crash below $1 means XRP will likely trade at $0.98 and then $0.95. However, with a recovery above $1.02, we can see bullish action.
For XRP to trade above $1.08 and $1.10, we need a break above $1.05. XRP needs to break above the $1.05 level to target the $1.08 and $1.10 level.
XRP futures open interest is up as investors expect the market to recover
The spot price of XRP is down, but there is activity in the derivatives markets. In the last 24 hours, open interest for XRP futures increased by more than 8% and is sitting at around $2.77 billion.
Increased activity in futures contracts indicates investors are taking positions in anticipation of price movements in the near future. Open interest is up as the XRP Ledger 3.3.0 upgrade is rolled out, and privacy, tokenization, and financial use cases for blockchain are more established.
What XRP and XRPL Payments Innovation Can Expect in the Future
The FinCEN MSB registration for Girin Card shows positive movement for XRP adoption and the readiness for regulated crypto payments. With additional XRPL and XRPL utility, the RLUSD and XRP infrastructure will add significant value toward real-world utility.
Although XRP has some short-term hurdles consolidating around the $1 support, positive news with more payment innovation, collaborations with institutions, and regulatory progress will be overwhelmingly beneficial for the XRP Ledger in the long-term.
