Ethereum Price Prediction: Will The Glamsterdam Upgrade Push ETH To $3,000?
The price of Ethereum gained momentum on Wednesday, October 21, 2026 as the rest of the cryptocurrency market was also in the green. ETH was trading at $2,448.46, up 2.76% in 24 hours. The total market capitalization of cryptocurrencies rose 2.49% to $2.79 trillion, helped by a renewed buying interest across major digital currencies.
Investors are now eyeing Ethereum’s technical indicators, staking development, and the upcoming Glamsterdam testnet upgrade to see if ETH can break past $2,500 and perhaps make its way to $3,000 this month.# Ethereum Price Today: ETH Jumps 2.76%
The recent Ethereum bounce has put the $2,500 resistance level back on the table. Bitcoin was at about $82,930, getting a little recovery from the last session, and XRP was around $1.333 after climbing more than 2% the previous day.
The positive trend across major cryptocurrencies points to an improved short-term market sentiment. Ethereum’s next move depends on whether buyers can continue the momentum and push the price above nearby resistance levels. Further gains may be limited by a broader market reversal or more selling pressure.
Hoodi Set to Upgrade Ethereum to Glamsterdam on October 26
The Ethereum developers have set the date for the activation of the Glamsterdam upgrade on the Hoodi testnet for 2026-10-26T17:42:48Z. “Hoodi’s release comes after the activation of the Sepolia testnet on October 6, which was announced by the Ethereum Foundation on October 16.
The Hoodi testnet will run with a block gas limit of 200 million, the same as Sepolia, and this will provide more capacity to process transactions while testing the upgrade.
Glamsterdam proposes improvements such as proposer-builder separation and block-level access lists. The goal of these changes is to improve block production, allow for parallel validation of transactions, and make the creation and access of blockchain state and stored data in Ethereum more efficient.
Developers will need to update their execution and consensus clients to participate in the upgrade. Testing these changes on Ethereum’s test networks will help identify any issues prior to any deployment on the mainnet. But there’s no official mainnet activation date just yet, so the testnet upgrade alone doesn’t mean an ETH price increase will occur immediately.
Ethereum Price Prediction: Will ETH Hit $3,000 in October?
The short-term outlook for Ethereum price is highly dependent on the ability to break above the resistance at $2,500. This price zone is the first major technical obstacle for buyers following the recent recovery.
A confirmed four-hour candle close above $2,500 could fuel bullish momentum and pave the way for the next resistance at around $2,600. If the buying pressure persists and Ethereum breaks further resistance levels, a rally toward $3,000 may turn into a potential bullish case.

The technical indicators are now pointing slightly upward. The MACD line is above its signal line by 4.51, with the signal line at -3.41 and the histogram at positive 7.92. These readings indicate improved near-term momentum. Meanwhile, the Relative Strength Index (RSI) is trading near 59, still above the 50-midpoint, suggesting a slight edge for the buyers.
Still, we’d need a big move from here to get to $3,000.” But simply announcing the upgrade may not be sufficient to spur such a rally, particularly if the broader market mood turns negative.
Ethereum Support Levels To Watch
On the downside, $2,400 is the closest significant support zone. If ETH falls through this level and selling pressure increases, the next area to look at could be the $2,320–$2,350 range.
Another fall could see the $2,300 level coming into view but the chart information available is not confirming this level as a major support. Traders should watch price closes and volume to see if the recovery is still intact.# Ethereum Staking Hits Record High of 43.8 Million ETH
Another key metric for network participation is Ethereum’s staking activity. A record 43.8 million ETH was staked at the end of September, according to a Bitwise report on Oct. 20.
Net inflows of 1.99 million ETH were recorded in the third quarter, bringing staked Ether to 35.9% of the total supply. That was the 6th quarter of staking growth over the last 6 quarters.

Annualized staking yields, however, declined slightly to 2.63% from 2.81% in the last quarter. Staking growth may indicate continued participation in Ethereum’s network, but it doesn’t guaranty immediate price appreciation.# Final Take: Could Glamsterdam Spark A Rally In ETH?
Outlook for Ethereum remains cautiously bullish as ETH trades near $2,448.46, technical momentum improves and staking hits records. The October 26th Glamsterdam testnet upgrade may help to boost investor interest in Ethereum’s developmental progress.
However, ETH has to break above $2,500 and get close to $2,600 before a rally to $3,000 becomes more technically credible. Reminder: $2,400 remains a key support level to watch. Ethereum’s next move will be decided by market sentiment, technical confirmation, and the testing progress of its network upgrade. These price levels are scenarios, not guarantyd outcomes.
