Solana Partners with Anchorpoint to Bring HKDAP Stablecoin to Blockchain
Solana is broadening its reach in digital payments and tokenized assets with a new partnership with Anchorpoint, the issuer of Hong Kong dollar stablecoin HKDAP. The partnership is aimed at enabling native HKDAP issuance and redemption on Solana, thus facilitating faster payments and tokenized financial transactions.
The deal, announced on Oct. 30, 2026, marks Anchorpoint’s first collaboration with a public blockchain foundation. The move may also widen access to digital payments based on the Hong Kong dollar for businesses, financial institutions and retail customers.
Solana to Allow Native Issuance of HKDAP Stablecoins
The Solana Foundation and Anchorpoint plan to integrate HKDAP directly into the Solana blockchain, so that users and institutions can issue and redeem the stablecoin natively. The partnership is aimed at improving payment settlement and making transactions with tokenized financial assets easier.
Such integration is likely to enable near-instant settlement and thus make HKDAP potentially useful for retail payments, corporate transactions and blockchain-based financial services. Anchorpoint also expects Solana’s wallet infrastructure to allow integration with consumer applications and corporate partners.
However, the companies have not yet announced an official launch date for the integration. HKDAP is currently available on Ethereum through a limited beta program for institutional and professional users. After making the final preparations, Anchorpoint intends to broaden its clientele to include retail customers.
Solana is also building out its real world asset ecosystem. The Solana Foundation estimates that there’s about $4.9 billion of tokenized assets on its network, with more than 835,000 holders of tokenized real world assets. Securitize launched tokenized stock trading on Solana earlier this month, adding to the array of blockchain-based investment opportunities.
Anchorpoint Adds Access to Hong Kong Dollar Stablecoin
Anchorpoint is working to make HKDAP more widely available across blockchain networks and digital financial platforms. The company was granted a stablecoin issuer license by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) in April 2026.
Standard Chartered, HKT and Animoca Brands have formed Anchorpoint as a joint venture to enhance Hong Kong’s regulated stablecoin ecosystem.
HKDAP is intended to keep a one-to-one value against the Hong Kong dollar. Its circulating tokens are backed by reserve assets, which are kept separate from the issuer’s operating assets. The structure is designed to help users redeem their stablecoins and maintain faith in the stablecoin’s value.
HKDAP is distributed by Anchorpoint through authorized partners such as HashKey, OSL and Standard Chartered Hong Kong.
Meanwhile, HSBC launched its RedCoin stablecoin on October 23 via the PayMe application, targeting around 3.3 million users. Unlike HSBC’s private blockchain approach, Anchorpoint plans to launch HKDAP on public blockchain networks, which could improve its interoperability and accessibility.
Solana Foundation joins tokenized money adoption program
The Solana Foundation will also be a strategic partner within Anchorpoint’s Tokenized Money Adoption Program, alongside the technical integration. The initiative’s goal is to promote the adoption of tokenized money and blockchain-based financial services via research, education, and collaboration.
PwC Hong Kong is already part of the scheme, showing the increasing appetite of institutions for regulated digital financial infrastructure.
Payments and tokenized financial products are key opportunities for blockchain adoption, said Lu Yin, head of the Solana Foundation for Asia-Pacific. “We need to build an open network that connects different financial ecosystems,” said Anchorpoint CEO Dominic Maffei.
The Solana Foundation also plans to have a local presence in Hong Kong following participation in the OASES program.
The HKDAP integration and what it means for Solana
The partnership could help bolster Solana’s position in Hong Kong’s digital financial ecosystem, by adding a regulated stablecoin pegged to the Hong Kong dollar for payments and tokenized asset transactions. The issuance and redemption of native tokens could make it easier to access HKDAP, while also helping to speed up settlement on blockchain applications.
But the real impact of the integration will hinge on the launch timeline, retail availability, uptake by payment providers and participation by financial institutions. If the collaboration is successful, it could result in more Hong Kong dollar payments and tokenized financial products on Solana.
