XRP Price Prediction: $184M Buy Orders to Push XRP to $1.42?
Ripple (XRP) price rose 4.6% from its intraday low of $1.284 to $1.34 at the time of writing as buying pressure gained momentum across Binance. The recovery came amid a wider selloff in the crypto market on lingering inflation concerns that saw traders scoop up XRP below the $1.30 level. Analyst Darkfost said more than $73 million in buy volume was recorded on Binance within an hour of XRP falling below $1.30.
The figure then climbed above $184 million as traders opened new positions. However, declining open interest and bearish technical indicators suggest that XRP needs to break key resistance levels before a sustained rally toward $1.42 is likely.
$184 Million Worth of XRP Buy Orders Hit Binance
The recent XRP price bounce was accompanied by a huge spike in buying pressure on Binance. Analyst Darkfost showed how the market dip was used by traders as a chance to buy into XRP at a discount.
More than $73 million of buy volume flowed into Binance within an hour of XRP dipping below $1.30. After a few hours, the total stood above $184 million, showing more buying interest on the bounce.
The capital inflow helped XRP recover from its multi-week low of $1.284 to $1.34, a 4.6% increase from the intraday bottom.
But, higher buying activity does not necessarily mean a long-uptrend. If short-term traders start to take profits the added volatility could spark another price correction.
Long Positions Rise as XRP Open Interest Plummets
The XRP derivatives data tells a mixed story, with open interest falling and bullish positioning rising.
According to CoinGlass data, the XRP open interest was $2.84 billion, down from $3.54 billion on October 7. That was the lowest level since Sept. 18 and showed traders had trimmed their overall exposure to derivatives even as prices have recovered.

Meanwhile, the Hyperliquid whale tracker indicates that three of the four whale positions opened on October 15 were long positions, valued at a total of $7.4 million.
Other derivatives indicators also pointed to a strengthening bullish bias:
Weighted funding rate: as high as 0.0101% (highest in a week).
- Long/short ratio: increased to 1.05, indicating a slight edge to long accounts.
- Open interest: Fell to $2.84 billion, a sign of reduced overall derivatives activity.
These are signs of improving short-term sentiment, but open interest is falling, indicating that the recovery still needs to be confirmed by stronger market participation.
Is a $1.42 XRP Price Possible? Important Levels to Watch
In a recent analysis, analyst Ali Martinez said XRP could move to $1.42, which would be the mid-point of a parallel channel on the one-hour chart.

However, the daily chart is forming a descending triangle pattern. This pattern can signal bearish continuation if the price breaks below the support level.
The below price levels are important for traders:
| XRP Price Level | Technical Significance |
|---|---|
| $1.42 | Potential upside target |
| $1.34 | Price at the time of writing |
| $1.284–$1.28 | Intraday low and key support zone |
| $1.139 | Potential downside Fibonacci target |
XRP’s Relative Strength Index (RSI) was at 38, showing weak momentum with sellers in the lead. Additionally, the price stayed below the 200-day exponential moving average (EMA), underscoring general trend weakness.
What’s Ahead for XRP Price?
If buyers maintain the momentum, XRP could continue the recovery toward $1.42 as the price regains the 200-day EMA and confirms a breakout above the descending triangle’s resistance.
In contrast, a break of the $1.28 support area could see XRP extend losses toward the $1.139 level. The $184 million buying spree is evidence of renewed demand for now, but falling open interest and bearish technicals call for caution. Traders should watch support, resistance and derivatives activity before reading too much into the rebound as a confirmed trend reversal.
