Publicly traded crypto companies soared on Monday as Bitcoin’s price gained. Circle, Strategy, Coinbase, Robinhood, and Bitmine all saw positive movements on the day. Investors felt positive about Bitcoin reaching a new all time high and a positive move in the U.S. regulation environment.
The Equity markets have been bearish recently due to the lack of movement on the CLARITY act. The act would bring further clarification to the Cryptocurrency and digital asset markets, and is highly desired by most market participants. A surprise move by the SEC brought positive sentiment to the market and gave regulatory clarity for trading of equity tokens.
Goldman Sachs said the framework was positive for Circle, Robinhood, and Coinbase. Circle, the issuer of the USD stablecoin, USDC, and the Cryptocurrency trading and finance company, rose 3% to $94.75. Robinhood also rose 3% to $123.21, giving the share a fifth day of gains in a row and an 8% gain for the week. Coinbase rose 5.5% to 205.09.
Of the partnerships with Strategy, MSTR, rose 8% to 166.35 after the company announced the purchase of 950 Bitcoin. Bitcoin’s price appreciation and Strategy’s continued commitment to Bitcoin as a corporate Treasury asset was seen positively by the markets.
Other positive movements came with Bitmine where the share price increased 6% to 27.43.
Stock prices are up approximately 21% in the last month. Much of the price increase came from Bitmine buying over 27,000 ETH last week. Bitmine buying ETH has increased interest in the company as a speculative investment.
Bitcoin’s price increase to just under $86,000 also caused an increase in cryptocurrency stock prices. Both Bitmine and Strategy benefit from increases in cryptocurrency prices because of their large exposure to cryptocurrency. Circle also benefits from increased interest in cryptocurrency because of their exposure to the US Dollar Coin (USDC). {\
Many cryptocurrency companies are benefitting from the increase in the price of Bitcoin, positive expectations towards regulation of the cryptocurrency industry, and the belief that companies will continue to purchase cryptocurrencies. Additionally, there is growing interest in investments tied to cryptocurrencies. Investors are also watching to see if Bitcoin will retain its uptrend and if there will be a positive development in the cryptocurrency industry.
Conclusion
Movement in equity markets related to crypto is closely mirroring movements in Bitcoin, with this week’s equity rallies tracking Bitcoin’s break above $86,000. Circle, Coinbase, Robinhood, Strategy and Bitmine all moved higher this week with Strategy up 9.5% on news of a purchase of 950 BTC and Bitmine up 11% on news of its purchase of 27,562 ETH.
Anticipation of the announcement of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) Innovation and Capital Exemption framework has positive prospects for the crypto space as well. Bitcoin’s price has continued higher, crossing the $86,300 level, and focus is now on if this price move and positive momentum will extend to the crypto and equity markets related to digital assets.
